{"id":1038,"date":"2021-03-12T14:31:57","date_gmt":"2021-03-12T20:31:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cognitiveinfo.com\/?p=1038"},"modified":"2024-06-26T01:25:48","modified_gmt":"2024-06-26T06:25:48","slug":"from-software-to-seminary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cognitiveinfo.com\/?p=1038","title":{"rendered":"From Software to Seminary"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It started in 1979 with &#8220;Hello World.&#8221; I was a kid learning Basic to program a text based adventure game on a TRS-80 and I was hooked.\u00a0 I wanted to take a game apart and make it better, so I did.\u00a0 I learned programming and ended up having a pretty good career in IT, focused on database systems and business intelligence.\u00a0 Now, 42 years later, it is time for a new adventure.<\/p>\n<p>The industry has changed a lot in those years.\u00a0 Back then we learned programming BASIC by buying magazines at Radio Shack.\u00a0\u00a0 The magazines were full of pages of of code for each popular brand of home computer like TSR80, Apple, Commodore 64 and Atari.\u00a0 \u00a0The author would then walk through the code and teach how it worked and how to change it.
